Get Involved

At Together We Care, we value servant leadership. We see leadership as an opportunity to put others' needs before our own. We measure success by growing and developing other people. We listen to the needs of individuals and find ways to meet those needs.

Our organization offers a variety of ways for you to partner with us by volunteering your time, unique talents, experience, and special skill sets. Look below to find a volunteer team that best suits your interests and commitment level.

FAMILY COMPANIONS

We want families to know they have a friend in us! Family companions can be someone who just sends a text once a week to someone who goes on occasional outings with them. Our family companions help us to stay connected with each family and know what their needs are so that we can better serve each one.

GROUP HOME SERVICE PROJECTS

We partner with two organizations who oversee and manage groups homes all around Metro-Atlanta. EDUCATIONAL ADVOCATES

If you are a parent of a child in special education, have experience as a special educator, or have legal experience, we would love to have your expertise on our educational advocate team. Many families cannot afford to hire an advocate to ensure their child is getting the proper education. So, we provide volunteer advocates to help navigate IEP meetings, establish appropriate accommodations, and to help develop goals and objectives. This typically requires a few hours during a weekday.

One of our goals is to help local churches establish special needs and disability ministries. In order for these ministries to be effective, most of them need volunteers. If you want to be part of an ongoing weekly ministry team, we can help you get connected with a church in your area.

We have several opportunities for you to join us in teaching the bible to people with disabilities. We offer a curriculum based weekly lesson in group homes or bible studies that meet in various communities each week. This is a weekly or bi-weekly commitment with the same group to discuss the word of God.
